| Turntable
Optically pleasing and resonance optimized plinth, made from epoxy resin impregnated Baltic Birch plywood and aluminium composite sets the new standard in design, elegance and performance.
Diamond cut edges, deep Piano Lacquer finish and it's acoustic performance make this turntable a true Alpha in the turntable world.
With the help of strategically positioned, quartz sand filled damping chambers and a non-resonant shape, unwanted vibrations are drastically reduced.
Inverted bearing and full aluminium platter combined with synchronous AC motor, cast silicone belt and state of the art high precision control electronics set a new standard in speed consistency.
Alpha TT-1 is created to provide the ultimate acoustic and visual experience for generations to come.
Composite material made of 24mm Baltic Birch plywood, vacuum impregnated with Epoxy resin and glued between 3mm aluminium top and bottom plates. Plinth has a multiple of strategically positioned, quartz sand filled chambers that reduce all unwanted resonances to a minimum. Piano lacquer finishing and epoxy resin vacuum impregnation process are developed and executed in-house.
Inverted hydrodynamic bearing construction with 10mm hardened, chrome plated and mirror polished shaft in combination with 3mm hard chrome steel ball and bronze bushing provide ultimate precision platter bearing.
19mm full aluminium platter is black anodized and balanced within +/-0.1g. Relatively low mass ensures a vivid and alive acoustic performance with minimal energy storage.
Decoupled from chassis by rubber damper mounts, 24V, 3 phase AC, permanent magnet synchronous motor sits in its aluminium housing that provides cooling and vibration isolation. Slotless construction and 120 degree sine wave winding ensures smooth torque production without torque pulsation and mechanical noise.
Positioned in stylish external aluminium housing, analog, three phase, sine wave AC motor drive voltage is generated with 64Mhz DSP processor driving 8-bit audio grade, discrete component R2R ladder DACs , one for each phase. Analog Sine wave output voltage is passively filtered and fed to the motor through three Class AB, discrete component, MOSFET push-pull amplifiers with open loop, no negative feedback speed control. Stiffness and torque of permanent magnet synchronous AC motor drive ensures exceptional speed stability and consistency. Power is coming from oversized 22W toroidal transformer. User interface enables manual absolute speed calibration if necessary. Described construction and circuit topology provides an absolute state of the art power supply for the motor, matched by very few other manufacturers, in any price range!
In-house developed, vacuum cast, silicone precision belts provide the best possible torque transfer from motor to the platter. Silicone belt material is by an order of magnitude better then ground rubber in regards to Belt Slip and Belt Creep factors. They are UV and heat resistant and are engineered to have no memory effect meaning they do not stretch.
